No, not the lunch lady who was overly grumpy with a greasy hair net slopping your apple sauce onto your tray in the cafeteria line. YUCK. There's a new LunchLady in town and she'll make you think happy, healthy, convenient thoughts! The kind of thoughts mommy dreams are made of, but you didn't know were a reality because you're like me. You're rushing out the door, driving through a drive-thru HOPING your kid gets to school on time. Scratch that, not hoping, you already know they're late because you had to turn around and pack a lunch when you realize you forgot to the night before. "Son, tell your teacher you had an appointment." Double scratch that, don't teach your kid to lie, Christine! I can't tell you how many times I've called my husband after dropping Noah off at school saying "I've really gotta get my life together!" Let's have a moment of silence for all the moms on the morning struggle bus like myself!
I still have to get my life together (pray for me y'all), BUT that process just became a little bit easier because I discovered LunchLady. A Denver local (for now) service that provides your kids the healthy lunch they deserve Monday-Friday. It gets better though, THEY DELIVER...by 5 a.m. every single school day morning your child's lunch is waiting on your front porch! I know, I know you're thinking "What is this David Blaine magic stuff?" Yeah, I thought the same thing, BECAUSE IT PRACTICALLY IS, IT'S THAT GREAT! Noah was so excited to have a special delivery every morning and equally loved putting his bag out each night to be filled again (think milk delivery style). We tested LunchLady out for three days this week to see how we liked it and I can't tell you what a relief it was to have school lunch off of my plate. To top it off, Noah loved the meals! It was a total win in my book, for me and for Noah! We'll definitely be ordering again.
Each lunch comes in an insulated bag with utensils, a napkin, a drink, and (my personal favorite) a spot to write your kiddo a note. I usually always write on a napkin for Noah, but this is way better! You can send the bag to school with your child, or (Noah's preference) a disposable bag or lunch box. When you're getting ready for bed in the evening, remember to set the LunchLady bag back on your doorstep and the next morning it will be full again. Don't need a full week of lunches? They can still accommodate.
