Galentine's Day: Treat Yourself!
Whether you celebrate Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day or both, consider yourself lucky. If you've got a boyfriend, girlfriend, lover, friend, kids, etc. that you can celebrate with, you're already blessed. I'll admit I'm usually a Valentine's Day or nothing at all kind of girl. I never really explored the idea of Galentine's Day until recently with some great friends and let me tell you, the support and love you get from your friends is just as important as any other kind of love so my Galentine's outlook shifted.
I highly suggest ditching the hubs, kids and pets (pre or post Valentine's Day) for a little time with your gal pals. I don't know about the rest of you, but for me the kids take up the majority of my time and a break is always welcomed. Sure, alone time with my husband is too, but there's something so fun about getting together with a group of good girlfriends and just hanging out. I left my group of girlfriends feeling so refreshed, empowered and laughed-out. Some things only other moms get and some things only women can relate too. It's all about balance in life and a good group of girlfriends and mom-friends can help you keep that balance. If getting away for a day or an evening isn't possible, consider a phone date with an old friend to catch up! There are so many ways you can take a little bit of time to embrace and nurture your friendships to leave you feeling refreshed.
As moms we sometimes forget to think of ourselves, but my challenge to you is to remember yourself and focus on you this whole month! Afterall, January was just a trial run, right?
Here's a little sneak peek into the Galentine's Day fun I enjoyed this past weekend in the cutest suite at the Renaissance Denver Downtown with some of my blogger babes. We had tons of laughs, tmi conversations (sorry Alejandro), the most delicious cake from Beehold Cakes, and tons of flowers. Y'ALL! THE FLOWERS. Flower Bombers is the cutest company that drops F-Bombs (flower bombs) when you send them to your friends/fam in Denver! Our shirts are Fiercely by Valery and mine says "Love Everybody, Especially Yours" which is so fitting because I need help in that area after having two kids. I'll spare you the details, but I'm working on that motto daily.
